Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder is the professionally-known name for Winona Laura Hoowitz, born in Winona Minnesota. The name of her parents was derived from her hometown. His father Michel Horowitz and her mother Cynthia Palmer were authors and editors. Ryder's father came from the Jewish family Ryder considers herself Jewish. She has two younger half-siblings, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder's parents moved out of Mendocino, California, in the year she turned seven old. They was in a house that didn't have electric power. The books on television were Ryder's only distraction to keep her busy and she became an avid reader. Ryder began taking acting lessons in the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983, when she was 12. At the age of 15, Ryder was offered a part in Lucas the first of her major film. Ryder experienced bullying at the school she attended. Ryder had hoped that her profession as an actress would make a difference. It didn't occur. The actress continued to chase her dreams. The year 1988 saw her biggest break with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder was a star in several films. In 1993 she received two nominations at the Academy Awards. One of which was for her character In The Age of Innocence.
