Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine combines R&B, jazz and soul in his distinctive style. Avery Sunshine has appeared on Broadway and in festivals throughout Europe, as well as her appearance at the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine can be described as Denise White. Although she is based in Atlanta, her roots are located in Chester Pennsylvania. There she was the first to begin pursuing a musical career as a singer and pianist in a church. In Atlanta she was a student at Spellman College where her musical education began in the Atlanta's R&B Scene. In 2005, she was commissioned as the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, who won Tony and Grammy Awards for her singing, asked Sunshine to join the Dreamgirls production at the Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was recognized nationally during her four daily performances during 2008's Democratic National Convention. She was then invited to perform during President Obama's inaugural in 2009.
