Jeanie Marie Buss has been an American businesswoman for more than 20 years. She is currently the president and the controlling owner of Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association. The California born Buss has been raised by an extremely wealthy family. Jerry Buss was her father. Jerry Buss started out as a realty tycoon, before becoming the owner of the Lakers. Her parents divorced in 1972. split up and she felt emotionally lost. When she was 19 years old, she took over the Los Angeles Strings professional Tennis team as General Manager. The team was later renamed an organization called the Los Angeles Blades professional roller hockey team. She held the position of the president for Great Western Forum prior to becoming vice-president for the Lakers. Buss along with her five sisters were heirs to his Lakers majority ownership following the death of Buss' father in 2013. Each sister had the same voice. Her duties were assumed as the president of Los Angeles Lakers. Buss also co-owns Women of Wrestling, a professional organization that has its headquarters at Los Angeles.
